THIS GUITAR IS IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION! Original Owner. We bought this guitar for our son when he was 8 years old to learn on. He wasnt interested in lessons at that time so the guitar sat unused for years. By the time he wanted lessons, he was then 14 or 15 years old, he wanted a different guitar, so we bought him another guitar (a BC Rich Warlock) and we kept this guitar so he wouldnt trade it for junk. We saved the Prodigy for our daughter until she was old enough for lessons, but after about 4 months of lessons, she quit. So since then the Prodigy has been sitting dormant. It pains us to see this rare beauty sitting dormant. Please give this Fender Prodigy a good home so it can ROCK ON!

FENDER PRODIGY DESCRIPTIONThe Fender Prodigy is a discontinued model of electric guitar produced by Fender from 1991-1993. It is one of Fenders attempts to compete with the superstrat-style guitars produced by Ibanez, Jackson/Charvel, Carvin Corporation and Yamaha. Since the Prodigy series was discontinued after about two and a half years of production without a clear reason, it is considered one of Fenders rare models because of its limited production.
The Prodigy series featured two single coil pickups and one humbucker at bridge position. The body shape was similar to that of the Stratocaster, however, it featured an offset body, sharper body edges and a smaller headstock. The Prodigy was relatively different from Fenders HM Stratocaster since it used Leo Fenders classic Synchronized Tremolo System.
The Fender Prodigys headstock is imprinted with "Made in U.S.A." and Tony Bacons book 50 Years of Fender mentions the Prodigy as being "among the first Fender guitars to receive attention at the companys new factory in Ensenada, Mexico." However, current sources at Fender attribute the majority of manufacture to the Corona, California plant.
