Product Description
His Dad played for a while with some friends back in the sixtys ...started a family and the Band dream went in the closet. I remember dreaming about these amps as a kid and looking at them hours in Sears Catalogue...well it took me better part of my life to get it..and now it is taking up too much room in my Music Room. Now dont get me wrong I am attached to the memory but not the Amp and Cabinet - I will not sell it for less then a fair value being that these
( speakers ) are virtually non existent in the Cabinet and with the Head in this condition.. .( Heads have been going for over 230) Speakers drawing high prices individually - the only thing missing on this Piggy Back setup is the Sears / Silvertone Medallion on the Speaker Cabinet and 45 years of dust.
The Moire pattern in speaker cloth is only in the digital photos...the speaker cloth still has its sparkle even though it has turned vintage color because of age. Only 1- snag...no rips or tears and the tolex only has a couple of small nicks...the left handle is missing its original cover...we are still looking for one.
So back to the above - YES - I AM TALKING ABOUT THE SPEAKERS - Jensens 10" C10Q the great ones of the time - Valco used these in all the Tube and Solid State Silvertone Amps that had the 6 10 inch speakers. (Vertical and Horizontal Cabinets) They were hand numbered as they arrived at Valco...you will find the speakers for 100-150 each occasionally...we are not parting this out for the sake of Silvertone History.
We love Silvertone amps and the cabinets. This Amp even though Solid State is warm and great for guitar. I have played my 57 Fender Deluxe Head, my 57 Fender Champ, my 65 Fender Princeton, and Bugera t5 and even a Heathkit TA 16 Head into these speakers...they all sound great...
Then last week I decided to start using the Silvertone Head (1466) with the Cabinet and find that it sounds great also.
So we are going to make room for some other equipment in our Music Room and this can go to a new home...is it you? If it does not sell it will go into our estate in the future for our kids to sell. Get it now or wait till then....whatever...no opinions just reasonable offers will be excepted. Happy Hunting for the memories of your choice! Thanks for looking.
We will split the shipping costs and insurance. The two together weigh about 75 pounds...and it will be costly to ship. Of course if you are in the PNW you can arrange a pickup. Reasonable offer accepted and no wholesale inquiries please. This is a bit of Amplifier History ....it belongs as we see it as an intacted unit.
Even though we have gone over the amp and find that it is in great working order it is still sold in "As-Is" Condition. Crating or Special Packaging services might apply. We will negotiate that at closing of sale to insure that yours and our investment is protected. You send us your Zip Code and we will give you the estimate on your half of the shipping and freight. Your half of shipping must be paid in full before we crate and ship.
