Description
This listing is for a very nice, and very rare, factory original Gibson Montana Hard Shell Acoustic Guitar Case.
As you can see, it has a classic vintage brown tolex exterior with a beautiful plush deep purple interior.
This is a Vintage ReIssue type case and the brown tolex looks a lot like the old Lifton cases from the 1950s. The lid has an arched top for added protection. Theres also a factory lock on the side to secure your guitar while its being store or transported. The key is missing , but well send a key if we can locate one that works.
Like any used guitar case, this one if not perfect, but it still looks great and will certainly protect your guitar.All of the hardware is intact and everything works fine, including the hasps, the hinges and the handle etc. All of the small metal feet on the bottom are also intact. The strap that holds the lid open is in place and in works great. The small accessory pocket is still intact and so is the lid as well as the small pull tab for it. The old school vintage type Gibson logo on the lid has been touched up with gold paint. The other letters that read " Montana Fine Acoustic Guitars " right below Gibson, are faded, and they have not been touched up. The plush deep purple interior is super clean and in excellent to near mint condition. The brown tolex exterior has some scuffs and scratches. There are some minor dents and dings in the tolex mainly on the edges, but nothing major. The hardware is naturally tarnished. Otherwise, the case is in very good condition.

Any of the true vintage slope shoulder styles plus the newer square shoulder J45 type Gibson bodies and many other Dreadnought type guitars made by CF Martin Taylor Takamine Santa Cruz and Collins etc. may also fit.

Exact guitar sizes will very, so please check the dimensions below, to make sure your guitar will work.

The lower bout is 16"
The upper bout is 12-1/2"
The length is 43-1/2"
The depth is 4-1/2" and the lid is another 1" deep.

These are the approximate measurements between the pads, which will give a little.

This case only came with one of the factory Gibson Montana Acoustic guitars and Montana cases almost always stay with the guitars.They rarely come up for sale and you cant order this case from Gibson, at any price.

If you have a Gibson acoustic guitar you really need the factory original OEM case to protect your guitar and maintain the maximum value of it.
